The MIR-SAT1 (Mauritius InfraRed SATellite 1) is a Mauritian project consisting of a 1U CubeSat. The satellite was conceptualised by Mauritian Engineers and is currently in the design phase.

In 2018, the MIR-SAT1 project won the 3rd Round of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) KiboCUBE competition. For the first time in its history, Mauritius will embark into new initiatives geared towards exploiting space/satellite technology for its socio-economic benefits.
